The improvement in the quality of bats , and the inclusion of field restrictions in the game have made it more of a batsman’s game than it ever was.  The game maybe in the favour of the batters,but no batter likes to face a ball coming to him at close to 160 kmph.

Shane Bond was one of the most feared bowlers of his time. He produced his fastest delivery in the 2003 World Cup. The delivery clocked in at 156.4 kmph.

Mohammad Sami is the 2nd fastest bowler in the history of Pakistan Cricket. His fastest ball clocked in at 156.4 kmph in Sharjah against Zimbabwe .

Mitchell Johnson terrorized the English batsmen with his raw pace and tremendous accuracy. His fastest was bowled at the pace of 156.8 kmph against England in the 4th test of the Ashes series.

Andy Roberts, a former West Indies pacer is the fifth fastest bowler on our list thanks to a delivery bowled at a brisk   159.7  kmph against the Aussies in Perth.

4) Jeffrey Thompson

Jeffrey Thompson, an Australian right arm fast bowler, bowled a delivery that clocked in at 160.4 kmph against West Indies in 1975!

3) Brett Lee

Brett Lee is arguably the most consistent “fast” bowler the game has ever seen. His fastest delivery turned out to be 160.8 kmph.

2) Shaun Tait

Shaun Tait is an Australian pacer known for his ability to produce mammoth pace consistently. His fastest delivery clocked in at a mind boggling pace of 161.1 kmph  he bowled against New Zealand.

1) Shoib Akhtar

The Rawalpindi Express doesn’t need an introduction of any sort. Shoib Akhtar was always a handful for any to deal with. His fastest delivery clocked in at 161.3 kmph(100.2 mph). He bowled this ball in the 2003 World Cup against England.
